From September 2010: VISITING SCHOLAR at the LEGAL INFORMATION INSTITUTE, Cornell University Law School (funded a postdoctoral grant by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Becas MEC/Fulbright 2010-2012). We’ll be working on several projects aimed at semantically enriching legal data, understanding legally defined concepts, representing legal knowledge, and exploring the possibilities of linked data and cross-jurisdictional retrieval of legal information.
From September 2002 to September 2010: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR at the Law School of the UNIVERSITAT AUTÒNOMA DE BARCELONA (UAB). A lecturer of Jurisprudence and Bioethics, Law and Society, coordinator for the Medical Law (2003-04) course and lecturer for of informed consent and confidentiality issues in Spanish law (2003-04). Lecturer of Ethics in the Master on Converging Technologies (UAB-FUNIBER). PhD thesis: Modelling Legal Knowledge through Ontologies. From 2003 to September 2010: RESEARCHER at the Institute for Law and Technology (IDT), participant in several national-funded research projects on the organisation of the judiciary (IURISERVICE) and access multimedia judicial content (E-Sentencias). Also participant in European-funded projects on Drafting Legislation with Ontology-Based Support (DALOS) , from the e-Participation call, and in the VI Framework 2004-2006 project Semantically Enabled Knowledge Technologies (SEKT). Lines of investigation: legal ontologies, legal knowledge repsentation, aificial intelligence and law, legal semantic web, biotechnology, ethics and law, etc.
From July 2008 to October 2008: visiting RESEARCHER at the Istituto di Teoria e Tecniche dell’Informazione Giuridica (ITTIG), funded with predoctoral visiting research grant by AGAUR (BE-DGR-2008-00076).
From august 2006 to December 2006: visiting LECTURER at the Law School of the UNIVERSITY OF PUERTO RICO. Legal Theory and two seminars on Bioethics, Law and Society.
From July 2004 to August 2004: invited RESEARCHER at the Law School of the UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN. Research conducted to conclude Mphil in Public Law and Legal Philosophy (research in English & Welsh and Scottish case law and statutes regarding informed consent).

From September 2002 to June 2005: Mphil in Public Law and Legal Philosophy at the UAB: First with merits awarded for the dissertation entitled: El consentimiento informado en la prueba del VIH: ¿instrumentalización de la autonomía en función de la tecnología? [Informed consent and HIV testing: is autonomy manipulated by technological advances?]
From September 2000 to September 2001: MA in Health Care Ethics and Law by the Law School (Dr. John Harris) of The University of Manchester. The course modules involved Moral Philosophy, Medicine, Law and Society, Gender, Medicine and the Law, Cases from Health Care Practice, Medico-Legal Problems, etc.
July 2000: Graduate in Law (degree comprehensive of all legal disciplines) by the UAB, spending the final year of the degree (1999-2000) at the MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY as an Erasmus exchange student. The subjects studied were Introduction to English Law, Conflict of Laws and Environmental Law and Policy.
